Insight
At Thinventory, we are proud of the work we have been able to do to help companies streamline their operations and significantly contribute to their sustainability goals.
Our solutions are designed to optimise the efficiency of field service operations while also minimising environmental impact, and we want to help our customers with their green journey.
Working with us could be a great way for your business to reduce its emissions and improve its environmental credentials. Here are some of the ways Thinventory is enabling businesses to operate a leaner and greener field service supply chain:
Supporting EV Transition:
With advances in Electric Vehicle technology and charge points becoming more prevalent, many companies are considering moving to an electric fleet. Not only is it better for the planet, but it is also more economical, with greatly reduced fuel costs leading to big savings.
However, range anxiety often deters field service companies who must carry heavy equipment loads. While estimates vary, carrying cargo can reduce an EV’s range by 14-70%, and unlike petrol vehicles, long recharge times lead to costly downtime.
Our shared van stock inventory solutions allows customer to hold parts in a Thinventory locker, reducing van stocks and payloads, making the transition to EV smoother whilst ensuring stock is held in the field to support demanding SLAs.
Plus we’re working closely with customers as they migrate to electric vehicles. Partnering with EV Charging stations and housing lockers on site allowing engineers to charge quickly as they collect their parts.
Smart Locker Technology
Our 45,000 smart lockers offer business customers a safe and effective way to handle vital parts and equipment, lowering travel distances and carbon emissions greatly.
Our lockers are usually only 3 to 4 miles away from an engineer’s home, which cuts down the driving time considerably compared to usual models, which need collection from a central location.
We calculate that our customers have saved 6.5 million kgs of CO2 since 1 January 2023 just by reducing the distance their engineers travel to pick up and return parts.
That’s a 50% reduction in CO2 travel emissions when picking up and returning parts, as well as a 50% reduction in fuel consumption and 50% reduction in travel time.
Leading in Recycling and Reuse
We teamed up with Go 4 Greener and made some big changes to how we reuse and recycle waste. At our Coventry site, we now turn most of the waste we get into recyclable material, and the rest helps make green energy.
We received a prize for recycling excellence at the National Recycling Awards for this. When you send waste back through the Thinventory network, you can be sure it will be dealt with properly.
Driving Sustainable Innovation
Working with Thinventory helps businesses cut down on their carbon emissions and improve their service. But we’re not stopping there. We want to do more to help the planet, like using our waste solution in other places and looking into using electric vehicles for our fleet.
Many of our customers are doing great things to become more sustainable, and Thinventory is excited to support you on this journey.
