Thinventory donate surplus stock to charity following rebrand
Thinventory donated surplus merchandise to a Ugandan charity following a major rebrand.
Following a rebrand from ByBox to Thinventory last month, the company has donated more than £2,500 in surplus ByBox branded merchandise to the Nkuringo Education and Community Support charity (NECS).
NECS is a UK charity providing educational and community support to the southwestern Ugandan community of Nkuringo. Twice a year, volunteers travel from the UK to Nkuringo to distribute donations and give support to the community.
The large donation of ByBox branded notebooks, water bottles and pens will be distributed to students attending the primary and secondary schools in Nkuringo.
Since 2013, NECS has supported the opening of a new nursery, primary and secondary school, and sponsor 400 students each year and donated water tanks, solar panels, seeds, hens and goats to the Nkuringo community.
The next phase of the charity’s mission is to raise £12,000 to fund the build of a community hub that will be used for training, aid distribution, administering vaccinations and the delivery of adult literacy lessons.
Operating under the new brand, tech specialist Thinventory supports vital infrastructure including hospitals, telecoms, utilities and data centres with field service technology and logistics.
Thinventory creates software and apps for better inventory management, and operates 45,000 smart lockers across 1,500 UK sites, allowing major brands’ field engineers to conveniently collect and return equipment and parts.
Stuart Miller, Chairman, Thinventory comment: “We are delighted to be able to support NECS with a donation of branded items to ensure our surplus stock is used in a responsible way.
“As a business we work hard to minimise our environmental impact, and we are pleased that NECS can donate the items for use in schools and the Nkuringo community.”
NECS chair and trustee Tara Garritt added: “Thank you to Thinventory for your generous donation.
“We will be flying out to Nkuringo at the end of October where the items will be distributed to our primary and secondary school students.
“Many of our students don’t have a notebook and water bottle of their own. These items will mean the world to them.
“The donation is a great way for Thinventory to reuse, repurpose and give surplus merchandise a new lease of life.”
