How the savings are calculated
For the Carbon counter and Picking up parts savings calculator
(1st April 2023)
The savings are calculated by making a field user journey comparison between the Thinventory network (of 1,358 exchanges) and a typical pick-up drop-off network. The key data points we applied for the calculations are:
Field operation data point | Carbon counter | Savings calculator |
Number of sites field users pick up from | 220 sites nationwide | Details provided by you |
Average weekly pick ups and drop offs per field user | Based on historic Thinventory data
Number of field users | ||
Operational days (per year) | 7 days per week (excl. public holidays)
Typical LCV fuel consumption | 30 miles per gallon
Fuel cost (diesel) | £1.55 per litre
CO2 Emissions | 11.96kg per gallon
Average speed | Variable, based on designated limit
Territory | Great Britain (National)
Proximity to a pick-up site | Calculated based on GB population data
Routing start point | Field user’s home with first journey to pick up site |
The Thinventory network of lockers ensures that the parts field users need are always close by. This reduces field user journey times, fuel consumption and emissions. In addition, our solutions provide visibility and control over your inventory in the field. All this increases scheduling flexibility, minimises shrinkage and expedites returns, further enhancing your CO2 emission savings and reducing waste.
Actual savings may be different as each field service operation and requirements are different. If you would like a detailed assessment of the potential savings you could make, including reducing your carbon emissions, then please contact us.
Note: The Carbon Counter results includes known savings from specific customers.
Note: Field Users is a general term that includes field engineers, field technicians, and other field based roles.
