Field inventory management
A reliable flow of parts all the way to the field service edge
What is field inventory management?
With a focus on the last mile, field inventory management is the practice of ensuring field inventory is exactly where it is needed to complete installations and fixes as fast as possible. The space closest to the customers or job location, the field service edge, is the ideal place to locate field inventory, minimising drive time and maximising customer service.
Field inventory management extends to the predictive pre-location of parts. For example, locating important inventory in and around a hospital site where fixes are needed urgently in order to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR)
Field Inventory Management also covers reverse logistics where parts in the field are returned to repairer or stock to be used again in the future.
